Certificate of No Impediment

What format is required for the apostille:

Only the original document issued by the local register office can be legalised and it must have the wet ink signature of the registrar. Solicitor certified copies are not accepted.

Does the document require solicitor certification:

Certificate of No Impediment do not require solicitor certification as they are not accepted in this format and must be signed and issued by the the local register office.

You may have heard that two different apostille kinds exist:

• Paper-based – you must mail your paperwork.
• “E-Apostille” – You can upload documents as PDF files that a UK notary or solicitor has digitally signed to obtain an electronic apostille.

But note that Certificates of No Impediment are not eligible for an e-Apostille.
