Doctors Note

How To Legalise A Doctors Note

The legalisation process in the UK involves affixing an apostille (certificate) to a public document. Legalisation serves as official confirmation that the signature, stamp, or seal on the document is authentic.

Documents can be legalised if they are required to be recognised by an international foreign body.

One of the documents that you can ask to legalise in the UK is a doctors note or medical document

We are here to help you legalise your document.

Why Would Someone Need Their Doctors Note Or Medical Document Legalised

You may require your Medical Document to be legalised with an apostille if you are required to present it to a foreign organisation outside of the UK. There are many reasons why you would need to but these organisations require an apostille to verify the authenticity of the document.

Requirements for Legalisation of a Doctors Note or Medical Document

Your original medical document signed by the named doctor (The doctor must be registered with the General Medical Council) or a photocopy is accepted for an apostille.

You may have heard that two different apostille kinds exist:

  • Paper-based – you must mail your paperwork.
  • “E-Apostille” – You can upload documents as PDF files that a UK notary or solicitor has digitally signed to obtain an electronic apostille.

But note that Doctors Notes or Medical Documents are not eligible for an e-Apostille.
